The operating system

I work where rules, interfaces, technology, and human behaviour collide.

Before “design engineer” or “AI builder” became useful labels, I was already moving between code, game systems, product flows, research, and physical making. That range has become the foundation of how I lead.

I can zoom out to team topology or platform architecture, then zoom back in to a transition, an economy rule, an API constraint, or the feel of a switch under a finger.

Working beliefs

The things I keep finding true.

The screen is rarely the whole problem.

Look for the rule, incentive, hand-off, or missing model underneath it.

Clarity is a leadership technology.

Good context lets talented people make decisions without waiting for permission.

Build enough to learn the expensive truth.

A working prototype reveals assumptions that survive indefinitely in slides.

Joy is not the opposite of rigour.

Delight often comes from a system behaving exactly as a person hoped it would.

Away from the screen

The hobbies are not a footnote.

Mechanical keyboards teach physical feedback. Electronics teaches failure. Music teaches timing. Board games teach rules and social behaviour. Photography teaches framing. Cycling teaches patience. They all come back into the work.
